Streets of Paris
As promised, it's sun :D
yeap! i managed to go to the Singapore versus malaysia game.loads to say.
no choice, we had to buy tickets in advance.cos there was a chance that it would be the last game in kallang before the stadium gets torn down for the new sports hub.so, my dad went early sat morning, queued up, and got the god damned tickets.
i tell you, i was so afraid of not getting it, cos i read from the website that most had been sold out.on fri night, xian wen and tkc called me to talk about it, so it would be quite demoralising if we didn't execute the intended plan.
anyway, thank god for many things.first things first, the tickets.i heard that many people assumed that it would be an empty stadium and that they could just go through the ticketing booths just before kick-off.foolish as i may say.bloody hell, it's the battle of the causeway, not singapore VS india.anyway, i had to go early to get a good seat.mine was the free seating ones, the north and east side.i think after much delay, i left my house at 7pm with my dad and bro, knowing that the good seats would have been snapped up as i read that people were already there at 4pm.and to dampen my mood, it was raining.football fans, you should know, everytime it rains, definitely not a good game as there's no way that the players have control on the field and the ability to run.i prayed before i left the house by the way, hoping that god would stop the rain.i was just giving up when just 1 min before kick off, it stopped! talk about miracles ladies and gentleman.oh i was supposed to meet xian wen, aug, JL, jia, helmi and leo.but they were still in town and i didn't want to be late.you get the idea.
the atmosphere was immense.55,000 was the full house and it filled every single seat in kallang.we did the kallang wave, sang a few songs of "ole, ole" to motivate the players.we were like the 12th man on the field.BUT in the 53rd minute of the match, malaysia scored a tyco goal.lionel lewis with the occasional blunder.kallang quiet? no way folks.we in fact jeered them and started clapping to cheer them on.
the bastard goalscorer fucking arrogant i'd say.the moment he scored that fluke, he came over to hush the crowd with his fingers.EH KAMPONG CB, guess who got the last laugh? HHAHAHHAHAH, stupid in the end cried when we won on penalties.anyway, singapore equalised in the 73th minute, and i swear that i could not even hear myself scream.the guy next to me even hi-fived with me, good fun :)
indeed, i expected penalties and it came.everytime a singapore player scored from the spot, we cheered.everyone was standing.i had my heart in my mouth and i was praying hard.of course the great god never lets me down :D we won 6-5 on penalties and bloody hell everyone was hysteria! we sang ole ole as the lions march on to the finals! and this game was definitely worth going.both sides played amazing football and every second was entertainment.and to add to the mircale part, it poured straight after the game ended.i was even telling my dad that god wanted to watch a good penalty shootout.yea i know, dense and not funny ;)
i know ladies, most of you must be sleeping after i'm talking taboo yea? i intended to blog about my trip, but somehow i left my journal in the other house, and jocie's gift as well.oh god, i promised to mail it to her.i can only take it next week unfortuantely.sorry jocie :(
i think that tomorrow's town (yet again), then i'll try to rush home by 7 to watch the teacher show on channel 8.thanks for the support everyone.hasta la vista baby.
